Matthew Edney

Osher Professor in the History of Cartography, University of Southern Maine

Director, History of Cartography Project, University of Wisconsin–Madison

I have been faculty scholar in the Osher Map Library and Smith Center for Cartographic Education since 1995, when I also joined USM's department of Geography-Anthropology and program in American and New England Studies. Since 2007, I have also held the Osher Chair in the History of Cartography. I have further directed the History of Cartography Project at the University of Wisconsin–Madison since 2005, where I am also Visiting Professor of Geography.

I am sufficiently egotistical and conceited to think that you would like to find out more about what I do at the University of Southern Maine: what I teach, what I write, what I research. So please follow the links to explore my work.
